2019 Junior Advisory Council
We had a very successful year with our 2018 Junior Advisory Council and are opening applications for the 2019 Council. We are looking for 12-15 of our Outstanding Participants to make up the Council for 2019. In 2018, the inaugural Junior Advisory Council was a huge success and the members were able to really bond with other teenage participants in the program and even raised over $16,000 in their all day Golf Marathon held at The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas in June.
The Junior Advisory Council will meet at least once every two months to discuss what is going on at The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas from the perspective of the participants. The main purpose of this Junior Advisory Council is to give our participants something to aspire to join as they progress through The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas and to provide an outlet for teen and advanced participants to contribute to the programming taking place at TFTNWA and beyond. In our first meeting in January, we will be electing a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer for 2019 as well as establishing some bylaws for the Council.
In the application, we ask some personal goal questions to try to get to know your participant better so we can appropriately match them with a mentor from our Board of Directors and community partners who works in a field they are passionate about. This mentorship program is a unique opportunity only offered to the JAC members. Some JAC members will occasionally attend parts of our Board of Directors meetings through the year as well. As an added note, serving on this Council will look great on a college application!
You can download and fill out the attached application. Please email your finished application to Becca at email@example.com by 5:00 on Friday, December 21st.
